Belanja Online di Pasar Religius: Fenomena Church-shopping dan Tantangannya bagi Keesaan Gereja

Sifra Niwan

Abstract

Abstract. Consumerism culture can be found in various aspects of human life, including the church. This culture integrates economic concepts (markets, consumers, capital, resources, etc.) in religious studies, which then develops the practice of church-shopping. This article intends to examine the phenomenon of church-shopping which generally gets a bad opinion and response from the church because this practice allows people from one church to “shop” to another church. The approach used in this study is a qualitative analysis through an analytical, dialectical, and argumentative literature study. The results of this study are a different perspective in how to view the phenomenon and find that this consumption activity is not entirely bad because it also provides space for the diversity of individual people and supports the church unity.
