Dari Tangga ke Taman: Multiplisitas Pertumbuhan Iman dan Implikasinya bagi Karya Pedagogis, Pastoral, dan Liturgis Gereja

Joas Adiprasetya

Abstract

Abstract. This article proposes the garden model as a new approach that is hospitable to multiple types of spirituality and faith growth. Such a model is characterized as heterogeneous and non-normative. As such, it becomes an alternative to the ladder model that is more homogenous and normative, as explicated in the thought of James Fowler. By comparing the ladder and the garden models, as well as several examples within the garden model, the author demonstrates the advantages of the garden model and its implications for pedagogical, pastoral, and liturgical works of the church. The research shows that the garden model is beneficial in making space for multiple ways toward faith growth as well as the enrichment of the life of the church that respects diversity and celebrates unity.
