Hesed dan Attachment Theory dalam Pastoral Konseling: Integrasi Teologis dan Psikologis dari Kitab Rut

Sherly Mudak

Abstract

Abstract. Loving kindness (hesed) in the book of Ruth is a theological concept that reflects unconditional commitment, action, and loyalty that is relevant in the face of relational and spiritual challenges. Modern phenomena such as emotional isolation, trauma, and spiritual crisis demand a holistic pastoral approach. This study aims to integrate the value of hesed with John Bowlby's attachment theory to develop a pastoral counselling model based on faithful love. The result showed that the relationship between Ruth and Naomi reflected a secure attachment pattern, which became a transformative model for building healthy relationships. The conclusion of this study confirms that the integration of hesed theological values and attachment theory can be an effective pastoral counselling framework to support emotional, spiritual, and relational recovery in the modern era.
