PNEUMATOLOGI AMOS YONG DAN REFLEKSI MISIOLOGI (Perspektif Pentakosta/Kharismatik Indonesia)

Abstract

Amos Yong’s pneumatology could represent of progressive and productive Pentacostal theologian, whose thought became pioneer to make theology of pentacostal  with   ecumenical and dialogue manner, even brought it to the Religion discourse. Amos Yong’s thought was concerned to religions dialogue with pneumatology perspective, preffering dialogue approach to apologetics. This was a breakthrough of Pentacostal/Charismatics’ customs, which they had never interested to correlate pneumatology with theology of religions discourses, yet kept focus on issues of Baptism with Holy Spirit or spiritual gifts, which so-called “second blessing”.

In Yong’s pneumatology offered three criterions; divine presence, divine absence and divine activity, which enable church to discern the presence and work of God. Yong also emphasized that Holy Spirit will enable christians to internalize “the hospitality of God” by helping us to interact positively as host in religiously pluralistic world. Although the church growth was considered to be important, yet mission of church must be under the concept of missio Dei, which focused on enhancing or improving God’s Kingdom. Mission is not church-centered, because church is not God’s Kingdom. Church is participated in God’s mission throughout the world.
